How Do Practice Exams Work?
When studying, you need to solve a few common issues:
- You need to repeatedly and rapidly identify the gaps that you need to study.
- You need to study the gaps you’ve identified in a way that works for you.
- You need a study method that is most effective, without all the guess work.
- You need to rinse and repeat the method until you’re exam ready.
Practice exams are perfect for identifying gaps in your knowledge, and at PPE we give you unlimited attempts at all of your included practice exams for the duration of your membership which allows you to repeatedly and rapidly identify and study the gaps!
There is a Super Study Method used by 1000’s of our candidates over the last decade to ace their exams first go:
- Identify your knowledge gaps through a practice exam and record your score and the topics you got wrong.
- Go hunting for the answers to the topics you got wrong in your course/textbook.
- Study those topics using “active study methods” and “active memory techniques”.
- Take a break for 10-15 minutes to let the knowledge sink in.
- Re-test using the same practice exam and record your score and wrong topics again.
- Rinse and repeat until exam ready.
There are a few very important notes that you need to be aware of before you start studying:
- Online practice exams are the best way to start your studying because you find the gaps in your knowledge so that you aren’t wasting hours reading stuff you already understand, but they aren’t, and shouldn’t be your only tool!
- Use online practice exams before paper-based questions because they allow you study rapidly, whilst paper based are better at the end of your study.
- Use practice exams before you use your course/textbook, you need to see exactly what topics you need to study before you spend hours reading and researching 1000’s of pages of content.
Here are a few answers to commonly asked questions that you probably have:
- Yes, our practice exams/question banks are current. They are constantly updated as CASA makes their changes, and when a user spots an incorrect or out of date question, it is immediately rectified.
- Our questions are not identical to CASA’s questions, because that is illegal! We provide questions on the same topics and with similar wording techniques to simulate the tricks and topcis that CASA will test you on in the exam. Anyone promising identical questions could be breaking the law and you should not engage with those questions.
- No, we cannot gaurantee a pass. Your result is completely reliant on your effort and the tools you use. We are an extremely valuable and proven tool, but we shouldn’t be your only one. You will need a course/textbook to give you the knowledge and a community of like-minded candidates/pilots/instructors who can help you understand and support you throughout the lengthy journey to becoming a pilot.
