Transmitting 7700 let’s everyone know you need priority. Set it to 7700 press IDENT and declare squawking 7700 to the monitoring area frequency, if time permits. But always remember your priority order 1. Aviate 2. Navigate 3. Communicate

The aircraft pitches up or down, nose down or nose up around the lateral axis. This is caused by movement of the elevator. Pull back, the elevator goes up and the nose pitches up. Push forward and the elevator goes down, forcing the nose to pitch down.

Yaw is when the aircraft moves left or right at the nose and tail. Yaw is a result of rudder input.

When on climb, the eustachian tube can easily vent out to equalise the pressure differential between the atmosphere and the middle ear. When on descent however, the eustachian tube has trouble equalising and having a cold will block the eustachian tube making it harder to equalise. This causes the eardrum to bend inwards and cause severe pain.

CAVOK is included in reports (from staffed stations only) or forecasts when the following conditions are observed, or forecast to occur, simultaneously:
› visibility of 10 km or more
› nil significant cloud, that is, no cloud below 5,000 ft or below the highest 25 NM minimum sector altitude, whichever is greater, and no cumulonimbus or towering cumulus at any height,
and
› nil significant weather.
When the term CAVOK is given, the elements of visibility, weather and cloud will not be given.
