Civil Aviation Regulation (CAR) 1988 – Being Phased Out
Back to: RAA Air Legislation
For the purposes of your Pre Solo Legislation you only need to know these exist. You will not be examined on the detail within these documents at this stage .
However, as you progress to being a qualified pilot without the supervision of an instructor these rules become vital to your safety, your good airmanship and your compliance with the law.
In RA-Aus, we study our own briefer version of these rules, but they still apply to us.
The CAR is being phased out and replaced by CASR’s.
The CAR can be viewed here. CAR
At this stage familiarise yourself with the sections, so that when you need to find a rule later, you know where to go and find it.
Come back to this section later in your course and take a much better look at these rules.
The CAR is in 5 volumes
Volume 1: regulations 1–60
Volume 2: regulations 5.01–5.147
Volume 3: regulations 77–343
Volume 4: Schedules
Volume 5: Endnotes
Each volume has its own contents
The following is snapshot taken from
https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/F2016C00863
This is the contents of just Volume 1 – as a sample so you can see how detailed it is.
You do not need to know this for Pre Solo Exams
