CAO Exemptions From Certain CAR’s

In some areas of aviation for example RA-Aus, the Hang Glider Federation etc, we need to operate under different and less onerous rules.

As a result CASA issues exemptions to rules via CAO’s under which some of these categories or organisations operate. Other exemptions are issued as Exemptions.

The RA-Aus operations manual was produced as a new set of rules to replaces those for which we have exemptions under CAO 95.10, CAO 95.32 and CAO 95.55

The importance at this stage is that you are aware that ALL the CAR and CASR’s still apply except for those parts exempted. Also note that we operate under CAO’s giving us certain exemptions. Within these exemptions we have our own sets of rules that replace the rules that have been exempted.

The COA’s of interest to pilots are numbered 20-99

The RA-Aus Operations and Technical Manuals are available to members logged in via the RA-Aus website
